In 2022 the DDoS threat landscape was dominated by geopolitical events and cyber warfare centred around political unrest between Russia and Ukraine. Ransom DDoS attacks continued to disrupt, while DDoS attacks used as a smokescreen for further malicious activity emerged as a growing trend. It has become clear that a DDoS attack can leave infrastructure vulnerable to further attacks — driving the need for additional protection.

- Application layer DDoS attacks increased by 82% year-on-year
